IndexChex measurement methodology

Published · By IndexChex

In brief

IndexChex publishes three kinds of numbers. Fixed limits and costs come from the product's own rules. Prices come from the published price list. Four performance figures come from IndexChex's weekly measurement on recurring URL sets, scored with its four-query Google index check, and are reported as averages as of October 2026.

Three kinds of number

Every figure published about IndexChex falls into one of three classes, and each class has a different basis. Mixing them up is the most common way third-party write-ups get the product wrong.

ClassExamplesBasisChanges when
Fixed specification1 credit per standard URL, 10,000 URLs per jobProduct rulesThe product is changed
Price$19.99 Starter planPublished price listPrices are revised
Measured result85%+ standard indexationWeekly measurement on recurring URL setsEach weekly run

Fixed specifications are listed on the specifications page and do not vary from user to user. Measured results are averages and do vary.

The index test

All measured indexation figures depend on one test: is this URL in Google's index? IndexChex answers it by querying live Google search results with four forms of each URL:

  1. The bare URL.
  2. The URL in quotation marks.
  3. A site: query on the URL.
  4. An inurl: query on the URL.

A URL that appears for any of the four is recorded as indexed. Using several forms reduces false negatives, because Google does not return every indexed URL for every query form. The same procedure powers the customer-facing index checker, so the test used to score submissions is the one users can run on their own URLs at 1 credit each.

Measured results

IndexChex runs its measurement weekly on recurring URL sets. The current published averages, as of October 2026, are:

ClaimPublished figureWhat is measured
Time to first crawlUnder 2 minutes average, standard and instantTime from submission to the first Googlebot fetch
Instant indexation95%+ within 5 to 10 minutesShare of instant-mode URLs passing the index test in that window
Standard indexation85%+ for typical sites, links and citationsShare of standard-mode URLs passing the index test
Checker accuracyAbout 96%Agreement of the index checker's verdict with the true index status

That is the level of detail IndexChex has published. This page does not add sample sizes, URL counts, week-by-week series or further internals, because none have been released. Any figure beyond those four should be treated as unsourced.

Reading the figures

The indexation figures describe typical URLs: ordinary sites, links and citations. Pages Google declines to index for quality reasons, pages blocked by robots.txt or noindex, and pages that are unreachable will pull an individual job below the average. Crawling is the part IndexChex guarantees; whether a crawled URL is indexed is Google's decision. The policies page sets out how that affects refunds.

The time-to-first-crawl figure is measured from the moment of submission, which is why it applies equally to both modes. The difference between modes shows up in how quickly crawled URLs become indexed, not in when Googlebot first arrives.

Prices and per-URL cost

Dollar figures are taken from the published price list at indexchex.com/pricing. Per-URL costs are derived arithmetic: plan or pack price divided by its credits, multiplied by 1 for standard submission or 60 for instant. The derived table is on the pricing page. Prices are not measured and are not averages.

Independent benchmarks

First-party figures are useful but are not a substitute for independent testing. The network's observatory site describes how indexers can be compared on equal terms in its benchmark methodology, including how to choose test URLs, when to check, and how to report misses. Readers comparing IndexChex with other tools should prefer like-for-like tests over any vendor's own numbers, including these.

Corrections and updates

When a published figure changes, the claims ledger is updated with the new value and as-of date, and the change is noted in the changelog. Errors can be reported to support@indexchex.com.

FAQ

Who measures IndexChex's published results?

IndexChex does. The figures are first-party measurements, which is why they are labelled with their basis and date and reported only as averages.

Why are sample sizes not published here?

IndexChex publishes the basis as weekly measurement on recurring URL sets. This site does not state sample sizes or URL counts because none have been published, and inventing them would misrepresent the data.

How is a URL judged indexed?

It is looked up in live Google results with four query forms: the bare URL, the quoted URL, a site: query and an inurl: query. Appearing for any one counts as indexed.

Can the figures be reproduced independently?

The index test can. Anyone can run the same four queries against Google for their own submitted URLs and compare the results with IndexChex's report.
