IndexChex changelog

Published · By IndexChex

In brief

The IndexChex changelog lists user-facing changes to the backlink indexer and index checker by date, from the first index checker in August 2025 through URL submission, the REST API, drip feed, scheduled re-checks, instant mode and the backlink monitor in July 2026. Dates come from the product's source history.

About this log

This page records changes to IndexChex that affect what a user can do or see: new features, new limits, interface changes and API additions. Dates are taken from the application's source history and given in ISO format. Internal work such as refactoring, test coverage, admin screens and analytics changes is not listed. The current state of every limit is kept on the IndexChex specifications page; this log explains when each piece arrived.

Entries are grouped by month, newest first.

September 2026

  • 2026-09-24 Index-check results now keep a URL's status as unknown when it could not be resolved, instead of folding it into "not indexed". The pre-check of each URL was separated from the Google lookup so a failed pre-check no longer decides the result.

August 2026

  • 2026-08-24 Published a long-form guide to choosing a backlink indexer on indexchex.com, covering the difference between crawling and indexing, Search Console limitations for third-party pages, and pricing. It is linked from the site footer.

July 2026

  • 2026-07-20 Subscription handling updated.
  • 2026-07-16 Backlink monitor released to all accounts. Checks that cannot complete (unreachable source page, anti-bot block, parsing failure) are labelled separately from checks that ran and found a problem, with guidance to verify those pages manually.
  • 2026-07-07 Backlink monitor added. It checks whether a source page still links to a target, reads the link's rel values and robots signals, and supports a one-time scan as well as recurring schedules. Details are on the backlink monitor page.

June 2026

  • 2026-06-22 Subscription credits now roll over between billing periods, capped at twice the plan's monthly allotment. The pricing page order was changed.

April 2026

  • 2026-04-20 Added the API v1 report endpoint, GET /index-check/jobs/{run}/report, returning indexed, unindexed and failed URLs for a finished check.
  • 2026-04-17 Enterprise credit pack added: $1,399.99 for 1,000,000 credits. Pricing cards redesigned.
  • 2026-04-07 to 2026-04-08 Homepage rebuilt with a product video and the published performance figures. Branding and icons updated.
  • 2026-04-06 Instant submission mode added: 60 credits per URL, up to 1,000 URLs per job. See URL indexer modes.

March 2026

  • 2026-03-24 A cancel button was added to the dialog that sends checked URLs to a new submission.

December 2025

  • 2025-12-25 Drip-feed chunks are retried within the same job if a chunk fails.
  • 2025-12-24 Index-check jobs continue with the remaining URLs when one URL's pre-check fails.
  • 2025-12-23 API rate limiting introduced (120 requests per minute per user). API v2 now serves a task's final report only once the task is complete, matching SpeedyIndex's behaviour. Drip-feed jobs given their own colour in the dashboard.
  • 2025-12-22 Scheduled index re-checks added to submissions, with results reported through API v2. Drip feed made available in the web interface.

November 2025

  • 2025-11-24 Pricing page shows promotional offers when one is running.
  • 2025-11-20 URL submission accepts internationalised (non-ASCII) URLs.
  • 2025-11-12 HTTP status checking added to job processing, the dashboard refreshes automatically, and API documentation and contact details updated.

September 2025

  • 2025-09-26 One-click switching between checking and submitting: URLs can move from a check result into a submission and back.
  • 2025-09-25 Email notifications for finished jobs.
  • 2025-09-24 REST API released, covering index-check jobs, submission jobs and balance.
  • 2025-09-23 In-app FAQ pages and a contact page added.
  • 2025-09-22 Invoices for one-time purchases available in profile settings.
  • 2025-09-21 URL lists can be imported from .txt files and XML sitemaps.
  • 2025-09-12 Monthly subscription plans introduced.
  • 2025-09-01 Submission jobs accept the full per-job URL limit.

August 2025

  • 2025-08-31 URL submission (indexing) added alongside the index checker, with card payments for credit packs.
  • 2025-08-19 First release: the Google index checker with a credit balance and CSV export.

Reading the log with the evidence

Performance claims are not dated in this log because they are measured continuously rather than shipped. They are produced weekly on recurring URL sets, as described in the measurement methodology. When a limit or price on another page in this network disagrees with an entry here, the specifications page is the current reference and this log is the history.

FAQ

Where do the changelog dates come from?

Each date is the day the change was committed to the IndexChex application's source history. Deployment usually followed within days, so treat dates as when a change was made, not a guaranteed go-live time.

Why are some changes missing?

The changelog covers changes a user can see or use. Internal refactors, admin tooling, tests and analytics changes are left out.

When did instant indexing launch?

Instant submission was added in April 2026, on 6 April according to the source history.
